Release 4.39.10

This release introduces enhanced Peppol e-invoicing capabilities for both expense and commitment invoices, along with improvements to attachment handling and the ability to correct mistakenly recorded retention releases.

General Improvements

Delete mistakenly recorded retention releases

Project administrators can now delete retention release entries that were recorded by mistake. When deleting a release, you will be prompted to enter a short reason, which is saved as a permanent note on the contract for audit purposes. This ensures a clear, self-contained audit trail even after the underlying record is removed. Please note that retention releases automatically generated from approved progress reports cannot be deleted.

Integrations

Improved file extension handling for integration attachments

We’ve enhanced how file attachments are handled when sent to external accounting integrations (such as Directo, Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, and Sage) and Peppol e-invoices. If a file’s extension is missing, incorrect, or doesn’t match its actual file type, Planyard will now automatically correct or add the appropriate extension before sending it. This ensures that external systems can properly identify and open your attached documents.

Invoicing

Embed Planyard expense summaries in Peppol e-invoice XML

Planyard-generated expense summaries, including the standard expense summary PDF, the expense spreadsheet, and the accounts-aggregated PDF, are now embedded directly within the Peppol e-invoice XML as supporting documents. This ensures that accounting systems processing e-invoices receive the full cost breakdown produced by Planyard, in addition to the summaries still being sent as regular email attachments.

Peppol e-invoicing for commitment invoices

Approved commitment invoice emails now include a Peppol XML attachment, similar to expense invoices. This feature utilizes the existing “Include Peppol XML” company setting, requiring no new configuration. If an invoice’s retention, prepayment, or VAT cannot be reliably expressed in the XML format, the email will still be sent as usual, but without the XML attachment.

Fixed invoice loading crash after removing unused contract items

A bug that caused invoices to crash and become inaccessible when an unused extra-work item was removed from a contract has been resolved. Invoices will now load correctly, even if an associated (but unused) contract line item has been deleted.
